Overview
Guiqihuoxue is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) capsule formulation primarily developed and studied by institutions like The Second Hospital of Shandong University for the treatment of various types of cervical spondylosis. The name is derived from its primary components, *Angelica sinensis* (Dang Gui) and *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huang Qi), which are traditionally used to tonify Qi and invigorate blood circulation (Huoxue). It is intended to improve local blood flow, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain and neurological symptoms caused by cervical disc degeneration or nerve root compression. In clinical trials, it has been compared to conventional treatments such as mannitol and mecobalamin to evaluate its efficacy and safety profile.
