Overview
Guiyuan Tablet is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) product developed by Shanxi Yabao Pharmaceutical Group for the management of opioid withdrawal syndrome and dependence. The formulation is a complex mixture of herbal extracts, with *Corydalis yanhusuo* being a key component due to its high content of l-tetrahydropalmatine (l-THP). l-THP acts as a potent antagonist at dopamine D1, D2, and D3 receptors, which is believed to mitigate the dopaminergic surges associated with drug craving and withdrawal. Other ingredients like *Panax ginseng* and *Aconitum carmichaelii* are included to provide systemic support and alleviate physical symptoms such as pain and fatigue. Guiyuan Tablet has been approved in China and is used as a non-opioid alternative for detoxification in patients with heroin or other opioid addictions.
