gumokimab

Gumokimab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin-17A (IL-17A), developed by Akeso for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and ankylosing spondylitis. IL-17A is a pro-inflammatory cytokine secreted primarily by activated Th17 cells, playing a critical role in the pathogenesis of these diseases. Gumokimab works by specifically binding to IL-17A and blocking its interaction with the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R), thereby inhibiting downstream immune-inflammatory responses. The drug has demonstrated efficacy in clinical trials for both psoriasis and ankylosing spondylitis, with regulatory review ongoing in China for plaque psoriasis and phase III trials underway for ankylosing spondylitis[1][2][5][7].
