Gutffin Plus

Gutffin Plus is an oral laxative suspension developed by ARB Remedies for the treatment of constipation. It is a combination product containing sodium picosulfate, liquid paraffin, and magnesium hydroxide (Milk of Magnesia). Sodium picosulfate is a stimulant laxative that is hydrolyzed by colonic bacteria into its active metabolite, which then stimulates the intestinal mucosa to increase peristalsis. Liquid paraffin acts as a lubricant laxative, softening the stool and coating the intestinal wall to facilitate easier passage. Magnesium hydroxide is an osmotic laxative that draws water into the intestinal lumen, increasing stool volume and softening its consistency. Together, these three components provide a synergistic effect to relieve both acute and chronic constipation by addressing stool consistency, lubrication, and bowel movement frequency.
