Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GUYOUDAO is an innovative implantable drug-device combination product developed by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Gene Engineering. The active ingredient is recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2), a potent osteoinductive growth factor. GUYOUDAO functions by binding to and activating bone morphogenetic protein receptors (BMPR1 and BMPR2) on the surface of mesenchymal stem cells and osteoblasts, which triggers the SMAD signaling pathway to induce bone formation at the site of application. Approved in China in 2010 as an implanted medical device, it is indicated for filling and repairing bone defects, treating bone non-union or delayed healing, and facilitating spinal fusion, joint fusion, and orthopedic bone graft repairs.
