Overview

Guzhi Xiaotong Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) candidate developed by the Beijing Zhaohan Pharmaceutical Technology Research Institute for the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. The formulation is based on TCM principles of tonifying the liver and kidney, strengthening tendons and bones, and activating blood circulation to resolve stasis and relieve pain. It is currently in Phase III clinical development in China, where it is being evaluated for its ability to alleviate symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain, numbness, and restricted movement caused by nerve root compression. Pharmacologically, the components of the formula are thought to exert anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, potentially by inhibiting pro-inflammatory mediators and improving local microcirculation around affected nerve roots.
