GV-907 is an investigational, marine-derived acidic oligosaccharide developed by Shanghai Green Valley Pharmaceutical for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Building on the research of its predecessor GV-971 (sodium oligomannate), GV-907 is designed to target the gut-brain axis. Its mechanism of action involves the modulation of gut microbiota, which in turn reduces neuroinflammation and the infiltration of peripheral immune cells into the central nervous system. This multi-target approach is intended to inhibit the pathological aggregation of alpha-synuclein and provide neuroprotective effects. The drug has been evaluated in early-phase clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in both healthy volunteers and patients with Parkinson's disease.
