Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GV-Zika (GEV-004) is an investigational inactivated vaccine being developed by GreenVax for the prevention of Zika virus infection, with a particular focus on protecting pregnant women to prevent congenital Zika syndrome. The vaccine is produced using GreenVax's proprietary BTC (B cell T cell Collaboration) platform, which utilizes green tea-derived epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) as an eco-friendly inactivating agent instead of traditional formalin. This platform is designed to achieve complete, irreversible viral inactivation while preserving the native viral structure, thereby inducing a balanced humoral (B cell) and cellular (T cell) immune response. GV-Zika is currently in the basic research stage.
