GVB-2001 is a self-complementary adeno-associated viral vector (scAAV) gene therapy designed for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma. It works by delivering the human dominant-negative RhoA (dnRhoA) gene to the trabecular meshwork cells of the eye via intracameral injection. The dnRhoA gene specifically targets and inhibits the Rho-associated coiled-coil containing protein kinase (ROCK) signaling pathway, which regulates intraocular pressure (IOP). Inhibiting this pathway can facilitate aqueous humor outflow, thereby reducing IOP—a critical factor in glaucoma management. GVB-2001 is being developed and clinically evaluated by iVIEW Therapeutics[1][4][5][10].
