Overview

GVB-2020 is an experimental in vivo gene therapy being developed by Genvira Biosciences for the treatment of various cancers. The therapy utilizes a viral vector platform designed to target T cells directly within the patient's body (in vivo), bypassing the complex and costly ex vivo manufacturing processes associated with traditional CAR-T therapies. GVB-2020 delivers payloads consisting of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) or T-cell receptor (TCR) constructs, along with cytokines, to reprogram the immune system in situ and generate anti-tumor activity. Additionally, the platform incorporates genome editing capabilities to further modify the T cells within the patient. As of early 2024, the program is in preclinical development and has demonstrated validation in cell-based models.
