Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GVGH Quadrivalent Pan-Salmonella Vaccine with Alum is an investigational vaccine developed by the GSK Vaccines Institute for Global Health (GVGH) to provide broad protection against invasive Salmonella diseases. It is a quadrivalent formulation targeting four major serovars: Salmonella Typhi, Salmonella Paratyphi A, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Salmonella Enteritidis. The vaccine utilizes Generalized Modules for Membrane Antigens (GMMA) technology, which involves outer membrane vesicles shed by genetically modified bacteria. This specific version is adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide (alum) to enhance the magnitude and duration of the immune response. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, specifically being evaluated for safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults in Africa.
