Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GWA-101 is a small molecule veterinary pharmaceutical developed by Gongwin Biopharm for the treatment of canine tumors, including melanomas and other superficial malignant tumors. The drug's active ingredient is para-toluenesulfonamide (PTS), which utilizes Gongwin's proprietary minimally-invasive targeted tumor ablation (MITTA) technology. Its mechanism of action involves selectively penetrating cancer cell membranes to induce lysosomal rupture and targeting mitochondrial ATP synthase, leading to the destruction of cellular integrity and energy production within cancer cells. GWA-101 has completed field trials in Taiwan and is currently undergoing the registration process with regulatory authorities, including the US FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM-USFDA) and the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).
