Overview

GWJ-A-10 is a lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) analogue that was developed as a negative control compound for the study of autotaxin (ATX) inhibitors. It is structurally related to active irreversible inhibitors like CVS-16 (10b) but lacks the critical vinyl sulfone moiety required for covalent inactivation of the autotaxin enzyme. In preclinical research focused on melanoma, GWJ-A-10 demonstrated minimal impact on cell viability and failed to inhibit autotaxin activity or prevent angiogenesis, thereby serving as a structural control to validate the mechanism of action of electrophilic LPC analogues in targeting malignant progression.
