Overview

GX-BP1 is a biological proteolysis-targeting chimera (bioPROTAC) developed by Genexine for the treatment of lung squamous cell carcinoma and other solid tumors. It specifically targets the SOX2 protein, a transcription factor traditionally considered "undruggable" that is highly expressed in squamous cell lung cancer. GX-BP1 works by inducing the cellular degradation of SOX2 via the proteasomal pathway, thereby inhibiting oncogenic activity and tumor growth. The candidate has demonstrated high target selectivity and significant tumor growth inhibition in preclinical lung cancer mouse models and is currently undergoing preclinical toxicity studies. The development is supported by a joint research project with Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
