GX-P1 is a long-acting Fc fusion protein that functions as an immunosuppressant by inhibiting the programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) pathway. Developed by Genexine, GX-P1 binds to PD-1 on activated T cells, suppressing immune responses through the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling axis. This mechanism targets disease-causing auto-reactive immune cells and is intended for use in autoimmune diseases, organ transplantation (to prevent graft rejection), and has also been considered for stroke, endometriosis, and premature birth. The drug represents a novel approach compared to existing therapies that primarily target inflammatory cytokines; instead, it aims to modulate fundamental immune cell activity[1][2][3][5][9].
