GX-P2 (also known as TJ203) is a long-acting recombinant fusion protein consisting of the extracellular domain of human Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) fused to Genexine's proprietary hyFc (hybrid Fc) platform. Developed through a collaboration between Genexine and I-Mab, GX-P2 is designed to treat various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases by acting as a PD-L1 agonist. By binding to the Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T-cells, it mimics the natural inhibitory signal that suppresses T-cell activation and proliferation, thereby restoring immune tolerance. The hyFc technology, which combines elements of human IgD and IgG4, extends the half-life of the protein, allowing for less frequent dosing compared to non-modified proteins. While Genexine has advanced the candidate into Phase 1 clinical trials, I-Mab has previously indicated a decision to deprioritize its internal development of the asset.
