GX301 is an experimental therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system against human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), a catalytic subunit of telomerase that is overexpressed in most cancers. The vaccine consists of four immunogenic peptides derived from hTERT and two adjuvants (Montanide ISA-51 VG and imiquimod). It aims to induce both CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses targeting tumor cells expressing telomerase. Clinical studies have shown that GX301 is safe and immunogenic in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, with evidence of robust immune responses. The primary indication under investigation has been prostate cancer, but it has also been studied in renal cell carcinoma[1][2][3][4][7].
