Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GynialActiv is a consumer health product in the form of a vaginal suppository designed to regulate and maintain the natural pH balance of the vagina. Developed by the Austrian company Gynial, it contains (S)-lactic acid and sodium (S)-lactate as its active components. The product works by acidifying the vaginal environment, which helps to restore the natural lactobacillus-dominant flora and effectively treats or prevents bacterial vaginosis. It is typically administered once daily, preferably at bedtime, to restore the acidic physiological range (pH 3.8 to 4.5) necessary for vaginal health.
