Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gynomunal is a non-hormonal vaginal gel indicated for the treatment of vaginal dryness and symptoms associated with Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM). The formulation is a combination of hyaluronic acid, hops extract (Humulus lupulus), and Vitamin E, delivered in a liposomal base. Hyaluronic acid acts as a humectant to maintain moisture and support tissue regeneration, while the liposomes facilitate sustained hydration. Hops extract contains 8-prenylnaringenin, a potent phytoestrogen that helps maintain the health and integrity of the vaginal mucosa. Vitamin E provides antioxidant protection to the tissues. Gynomunal is frequently used as a non-hormonal alternative for women who cannot or prefer not to use estrogen therapy, such as breast cancer survivors. In clinical research, it has been utilized as a standard-of-care comparator for energy-based treatments like fractional CO2 lasers (e.g., FemTouch).
