Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gyntima Menopause (also known as KABP Menopause) is a proprietary three-strain probiotic formula developed by AB-BIOTICS, a subsidiary of the Kaneka Group. The product contains three patented bacterial strains: *Levilactobacillus brevis* KABP 052, *Lactiplantibacillus plantarum* KABP 051, and *Pediococcus acidilactici* KABP 021. It is designed to target the estrobolome—the gut microbiota responsible for metabolizing estrogens—by increasing gut β-glucuronidase activity. This enzymatic action deconjugates estrogens in the gut, allowing for their reabsorption into the bloodstream and thereby modulating systemic estrogen levels. Clinical evidence supports its use in improving menopause-related symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and depressive mood in peri- and postmenopausal women.
