Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gynura pseudochina var. hispida is a medicinal plant from the Asteraceae family traditionally used in Thailand for treating chronic and acute inflammation. It contains bioactive compounds that inhibit the NF-κB pathway and suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines. The plant has demonstrated clinical efficacy in treating mild to moderate psoriasis with minimal side effects, comparable to 0.1% triamcinolone cream. However, caution is advised due to potential presence of hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
