Overview

GZR33 is an investigational ultra-long-acting basal insulin analog being developed by Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, including type 1 diabetes. As a biologic insulin analog, it functions as a long-acting basal insulin that targets and activates insulin receptors to regulate blood glucose levels. The drug is designed to provide a prolonged duration of action, potentially offering a more stable glucose-lowering effect compared to existing basal insulins. GZR33 is currently in early-phase clinical development, where its pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and safety are being compared to insulin degludec. It is also being evaluated as a component of GZR101, a premixed formulation that combines GZR33 with fast-acting insulin aspart to simulate physiological insulin secretion patterns.
