Drug intelligence / Profile preview
H-biota AB-21 is an oral probiotic dietary supplement developed by AB-Biotics (in partnership with Kaneka and Almus Pharma) to support respiratory and immune health. The formulation consists of a patented blend of four probiotic strains—Lactiplantibacillus plantarum KABP022, KABP023, and KABP033, along with Pediococcus acidilactici KABP021—combined with Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). H-biota AB-21 acts via the gut-lung axis to modulate the host's immune response, enhance gut barrier function, and reduce systemic inflammation. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in accelerating recovery, reducing viral load, and shortening the duration of fever and discomfort in outpatients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 and children with viral upper respiratory tract infections.
