A **h1 virus-like particle influenza vaccine** is a vaccine candidate that uses **virus-like particles (VLPs)** engineered to display the hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) proteins of an H1 subtype influenza A virus. VLPs mimic the structure of native influenza virions but lack viral genomic RNA, making them non-infectious while still immunogenic. This modality can induce both humoral and cellular immune responses, including the generation of neutralizing antibodies against H1-HA and NA, as well as robust T-cell responses. VLP-based vaccines are under clinical investigation for their potential to yield broader and more durable immunity compared to traditional inactivated or split-virion influenza vaccines. They may also be formulated as bivalent or multivalent vaccines by combining VLPs representing multiple influenza subtypes.
