Overview

H101 + cisplatin + vinorelbine is a combination therapy that includes an oncolytic adenovirus (H101) and two chemotherapy agents (cisplatin and vinorelbine). H101 is a genetically engineered adenovirus with the E1B 55 kD gene deleted, allowing it to selectively replicate in and lyse p53-deficient cancer cells. The virus exerts its anticancer effects through direct infection and lysis of tumor cells and induction of immunogenic cell death. When combined with chemotherapy agents like cisplatin and vinorelbine, H101 has shown enhanced anti-tumor activity compared to chemotherapy alone. Vinorelbine is a vinca alkaloid that works by interfering with tubulin polymerization, stopping cancer cells from dividing. This combination approach targets cancer through multiple mechanisms, potentially improving response rates in patients with advanced malignancies.
