Drug intelligence / Profile preview
H10N8 vaccine is an **mRNA-based avian influenza vaccine** developed by **Moderna** to prevent infection caused by the potentially pandemic **H10N8 influenza A virus**, specifically the **A/Jiangxi-Donghu/346/2013** strain. It is a **lipid nanoparticle formulated, modified mRNA vaccine** that encodes the viral **hemagglutinin** antigen, enabling host cells to express the HA protein and induce neutralizing antibody responses against H10N8 influenza. In a Phase 1 study in healthy adults in Germany, the vaccine showed a favorable tolerability profile, and the 100 microgram intramuscular dose produced protective antibody titers in all evaluated participants. The program was intended as pandemic preparedness for an avian influenza subtype associated with severe human infections in China.
