H1N1 influenza antigen is a component of influenza vaccines designed to elicit an immune response against the H1N1 strain of the influenza virus. It was supplied by GC Biopharma for use by Vaxess Technologies in their VX-103 MIMIX-Flu patch program, which aims to improve flu vaccine efficacy and durability compared to traditional injections. A Phase 1 trial for this program, which utilized the H1N1 influenza antigen, was completed in June 2023 and demonstrated strong and durable immune responses.
