Drug intelligence / Profile preview
H2107 is a humanized monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize nerve growth factor (NGF). Developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine, it is primarily being investigated for the management of chronic pain associated with osteoarthritis and chronic low back pain. NGF plays a critical role in the signaling and sensitization of pain by binding to its high-affinity receptor, tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA), and its low-affinity receptor, p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR), on peripheral nociceptors. By sequestering circulating NGF, H2107 prevents these interactions, thereby reducing the hypersensitivity of pain-sensing neurons and providing analgesic effects. The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and represents a non-opioid approach to treating debilitating chronic pain conditions.
