Overview

The **H2N2 1960 AA ca recombinant vaccine** is a live attenuated, cold-adapted, and temperature-sensitive influenza A (H2N2) virus vaccine derived from the A/Ann Arbor/6/60 strain. It is designed as a candidate for pandemic preparedness against potential re-emergence of human H2N2 influenza viruses. The "recombinant" aspect refers to its derivation using reverse genetics or reassortment techniques to produce an attenuated virus that can replicate efficiently in the cooler upper respiratory tract but not in warmer lower airways. This induces protective immune responses without causing disease[2]. The primary mechanism of action is induction of humoral and cellular immunity against hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) antigens specific to the H2 subtype[3]. The main indication is prevention of infection by influenza A/Human/Hong Kong/H3 or similar strains; it has been evaluated in phase I clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity[2].
