Overview

H4CBD (hexahydrocannabidiol) is a synthetic cannabinoid created by the catalytic hydrogenation of cannabidiol (CBD), first synthesized in 1940. The process involves adding four hydrogen atoms to the CBD molecule, converting its double bonds to single bonds. This modification results in a compound structurally similar to CBD but with distinct pharmacological properties. H4CBD exhibits a significantly higher binding affinity for the CB1 receptor compared to conventional CBD and may produce mild psychoactive effects not seen with natural CBD. Preliminary research suggests potential anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects as well as possible benefits for anxiety relief and pain management. H4CBD is being explored for therapeutic applications including relaxation, mood stabilization, sleep improvement, pain relief (especially muscle and joint), antioxidant action, and possibly weight management[1][2][3][5][6][7][8].
