Drug intelligence / Profile preview
H5-VLP + GLA-AF is an investigational pandemic influenza vaccine candidate developed by the Access to Advanced Health Institute (AAHI). The vaccine formulation consists of recombinant influenza virus H5 protein (hemagglutinin derived from the A/Indonesia/5/2005 strain) produced in a plant-based expression system that assembles into virus-like particles (VLPs). This antigen is combined with GLA-AF (Glucopyranosyl Lipid Adjuvant-Aqueous Formulation), a synthetic Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist designed to enhance the magnitude and durability of the immune response. The vaccine is intended to prevent infection by the H5N1 subtype of the influenza A virus by inducing neutralizing antibodies against the viral hemagglutinin.
