Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**H5N1 vaccine (Indonesia strain)** is an inactivated split-virion or reverse genetics-derived vaccine targeting avian influenza A(H5N1) viruses from Indonesian clades, primarily A/Indonesia/05/2005 or related 2007 human isolates. It induces humoral immunity via hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) antigens, often adjuvanted with AS03 to enhance cross-reactive antibody responses against heterologous H5N1 variants, enabling dose-sparing (e.g., 3.75 µg HA/dose). Developed for pandemic preparedness, it demonstrates robust hemagglutination inhibition (HI) and microneutralization (MN) titers meeting CHMP/CBER criteria after two doses in adults and elderly, with developers including GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Airlangga University (AIRC).[1][2][3]
