Overview

H9N2 AA ca Reassortant refers to a type of genetically modified avian influenza virus (H9N2 subtype) that has undergone genetic reassortment, often engineered to be cold-adapted ('ca'). This viral construct is primarily developed as a vaccine candidate to induce an immune response against H9N2 influenza virus. H9N2 avian influenza is endemic in poultry populations and poses a significant threat to both animal health and public health due to its zoonotic potential and its ability to contribute genes to other emerging influenza viruses. The vaccine aims to stimulate the production of specific antibodies and cellular immune responses to provide protection against infection.
