Overview

**HA-ADH@IR808** is an experimental, CD44-targeted hyaluronic acid-adipic acid dihydrazide micellar nanotherapeutic incorporating the near-infrared cyanine photothermal agent IR808. It was reported for image-guided mild photothermal therapy of **triple-negative breast cancer** in preclinical models. Hyaluronic acid promotes tumor-cell uptake through CD44, which is enriched on cancer stem cell populations, while IR808 converts near-infrared laser energy into localized heat. The hydrazide-containing micelle also produces chemical exchange saturation transfer signals that support intratumoral mapping of the formulation and treatment-temperature monitoring. In mouse studies, mild photothermal treatment inhibited tumor growth and metastatic potential, with reported depletion of CD44-positive cells and reduced collagen I-associated epithelial-mesenchymal transition signaling.
