Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HAb18 is a murine monoclonal antibody that specifically targets CD147 (also known as basigin or EMMPRIN), a cell surface glycoprotein overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other cancers. The binding of HAb18 to CD147 inhibits cancer cell proliferation and migration, making it useful as an anticancer agent. It has been used both as a standalone therapeutic and conjugated with drugs or radionuclides for targeted therapy[2][6][5]. In research settings, it has also been explored in combination with cytokines such as interleukin-24 (IL-24) within oncolytic adenoviral vectors to enhance antitumor activity[1].
