Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**hAd5 ACE2 decoy** is an investigational SARS-CoV-2 therapeutic vaccine developed by ImmunityBio that uses a deleted human adenovirus serotype 5 vector platform to deliver a genetically engineered ACE2 decoy fusion construct. The construct is described as an optimized recombinant ACE2 fused to an Fc domain, including dimeric IgA fusion protein decoy formats, designed to bind the viral spike receptor-binding domain with high affinity and competitively intercept virus before it engages native ACE2 on respiratory epithelial cells. By acting as a soluble trap for SARS-CoV-2, including variants reported to carry E484K and N501Y mutations, the product is intended to prevent cell entry and facilitate viral clearance. Available information indicates preclinical development and GMP manufacturing activity as of March 2021.
