Haemoblock is a local hemostatic solution registered in the Russian Federation as a medical product. It functions by forming a clot with blood plasma proteins (primarily albumin) to achieve hemostasis within 1-2 minutes. The mechanism involves a two-stage process: first, a polyacrylic matrix complex containing albumin molecules forms, then albumin molecules reduce silver ions, creating polyacrylate anions that bond with positively charged protein molecules. This structure forms multiple microlayers, creating a solid polymethacrylate film on the wound surface. The drug also provides bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects due to the presence of silver nanoparticles, which are effective against most known microorganisms. Importantly, Haemoblock does not affect hemostasis in the general blood flow and does not lead to thrombosis. It can be effective even in cases where the blood clotting system is compromised, such as in hemophilia.
