Overview

HaemoCer is a plant-based, absorbable polysaccharide hemostatic powder used as an adjunct to control bleeding during surgical procedures. It contains no animal or human components and is manufactured using BioCer's proprietary Polysaccharide Ultra-hydrophilic Resorbable Engineering (PURE) process. Upon contact with blood, HaemoCer rapidly dehydrates the blood at the application site, concentrating platelets, red blood cells, and coagulation proteins to enhance the natural clotting cascade. It also forms a gelled matrix that adheres to tissue and acts as a mechanical barrier to further bleeding. The product is fully resorbed by amylase within days after application without leaving residues. Indications include use in general surgery for capillary, venous, or arteriolar bleeding when conventional methods are ineffective or impractical; it can also serve as an adhesion prevention barrier in both open and minimally invasive procedures[1][3][4][5][8].
