Overview

Haemophilus influenzae bacterial lysate is an immunostimulating agent derived from the lysis of *Haemophilus influenzae* bacteria. It is primarily used for the prevention and treatment of recurrent lower respiratory tract infections, particularly in patients prone to chronic bronchitis or recurrent pneumonia. The lysate acts by stimulating the mucosal immune system, increasing the production of secretory IgA and activating innate immune cells such as macrophages and T-lymphocytes, thereby enhancing the body's natural defense mechanisms against subsequent infections by the same pathogen. It is developed and marketed by Laboratorio Farmaceutico S.I.T. as a monovalent bacterial preparation.
