Overview

The Hib-MenC-TT conjugate vaccine + MMR vaccine refers to the concomitant administration of a combined Haemophilus influenzae type b and Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine (marketed as Menitorix) with a measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine (marketed as Priorix). Developed by GSK, this combination is typically administered as a booster dose in toddlers aged 12-15 months to provide simultaneous protection against five major pediatric infectious diseases. The Hib-MenC-TT component utilizes purified capsular polysaccharides from Hib and MenC bacteria, each conjugated to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein to enhance immunogenicity and induce T-cell dependent memory. The MMR component consists of live attenuated measles, mumps, and rubella viruses that replicate to stimulate long-lasting humoral and cellular immunity. Clinical trials have demonstrated that these vaccines can be safely co-administered without significant interference in immune responses or increased safety concerns compared to separate administration.
