HAIC + PD-1 is a dual combination therapy that combines Hepatic Arterial Infusion Chemotherapy (HAIC) with PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This combination approach aims to enhance treatment efficacy by delivering chemotherapy directly to the liver through the hepatic artery while simultaneously boosting the immune response against cancer cells through PD-1 inhibition. The PD-1 inhibitor component may include drugs such as nivolumab, pembrolizumab, toripalimab, or sintilimab. This combination has shown promising results in patients with advanced HCC, particularly those with portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT).
