Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HAIC-FOLFOX + camrelizumab + apatinib is a combination regimen used primarily in the treatment of advanced or unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other liver cancers. The regimen consists of three components: - **HAIC-FOLFOX** (Hepatic Arterial Infusion Chemotherapy with FOLFOX): This involves the direct infusion of a chemotherapy combination—oxaliplatin, fluorouracil (5FU), and folinic acid (leucovorin)—into the hepatic artery, delivering high local concentrations to liver tumors while minimizing systemic toxicity. Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based DNA crosslinker, 5FU is an antimetabolite that inhibits thymidylate synthase, and folinic acid enhances 5FU’s efficacy[2][3][6][7]. - **Camrelizumab**: A monoclonal antibody targeting PD-1 on T cells, acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. - **Apatinib**: A small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), inhibiting tumor angiogenesis. This triple therapy combines locoregional chemotherapy with immunotherapy and targeted antiangiogenic therapy. It aims to maximize tumor response rates by attacking cancer through cytotoxicity, immune activation, and inhibition of blood vessel formation[5].
