Haidermart Cream

Haidermart Cream is a topical anti-inflammatory and antipruritic cream containing 2% glycyrrhetinic acid. Developed and marketed by Miyarisan Pharmaceutical, it is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory and pruritic (itchy) skin conditions. Glycyrrhetinic acid, a small molecule derived from licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), is thought to exert its anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the enzyme 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (11β-HSD). This inhibition prevents the breakdown of endogenous cortisol into its inactive form, cortisone, thereby potentiating the local anti-inflammatory activity of corticosteroids in the skin. The product is distributed in Japan in collaboration with Mayado and Minophagen.
