hainosankyuto

Hainosankyuto is a traditional Japanese Kampo medicine (a standardized herbal formulation) used for the treatment of suppurative inflammatory conditions, such as skin infections (boils, carbuncles) and dental diseases (periodontal abscesses, periodontitis). It is a fixed combination of six crude drugs: Platycodon Root, Peony Root, Jujube, Immature Orange, Ginger, and Licorice. The formulation is designed to reduce inflammation, promote the drainage of pus, and facilitate wound healing. In Japan, it is regulated as a pharmaceutical product and is often used as an adjunct to antibiotic therapy to accelerate the resolution of acute inflammatory lesions. Clinical trials have specifically evaluated its efficacy in combination with amoxicillin for managing acute periodontal inflammation.
