Overview

HAL-MPE1 is a chemically modified, aluminum hydroxide-adsorbed peanut extract developed as a subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) for the treatment of peanut allergy. It is designed to modulate the immune response in individuals with peanut hypersensitivity by reducing IgE binding and allergic symptoms compared to unmodified peanut extracts. The drug acts as an **immunomodulator** and has been evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for safety and tolerability in both adults and children with peanut allergy. Developed by HAL Allergy Holding BV, it represents an investigational approach aiming to provide causal therapy for food allergies through allergen-specific desensitization[1][3][5][6].
