Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Halicar is a topical herbal and homeopathic medicinal product developed by Dr. Willmar Schwabe. The active ingredient is a mother tincture prepared from the fresh above-ground parts of the balloon vine (*Cardiospermum halicacabum*). It is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and allergic skin conditions, including atopic dermatitis (eczema), contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, and pruritus (itching). Halicar exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and skin-soothing effects, often described as having a cortisone-like action without the associated side effects of topical corticosteroids, such as skin thinning.
