Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CITI-002 is a topical combination drug candidate developed by Citius Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of Grade II and III hemorrhoids. It consists of halobetasol propionate, a high-potency (Class I) corticosteroid, and lidocaine, a local anesthetic. Halobetasol propionate provides anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by activating glucocorticoid receptors, while lidocaine offers rapid symptomatic relief by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium channels to block nerve impulse conduction. This combination is intended to provide a more effective treatment than either component alone or existing over-the-counter options.
