Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HAMASANA is a topical herbal ointment containing a distillate of *Hamamelis virginiana* (witch hazel). Developed and manufactured by Robugen, it is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with hemorrhoids, such as itching and burning, as well as for the treatment of minor skin inflammations and injuries. The therapeutic efficacy of witch hazel is attributed to its high content of tannins and volatile oils, which provide astringent, anti-inflammatory, and local hemostatic properties. By precipitating proteins on the skin surface and constricting local capillaries, it helps to reduce edema, soothe irritation, and promote the healing of damaged tissues.
