Overview
HanaFlu (also referred to as SNAPflu) is a hexavalent seasonal influenza vaccine candidate being developed by POP Biotechnologies. The vaccine utilizes the company's proprietary SNAP (Spontaneous Cobalt-Porphyrin Phospholipid Inducing Nanoliposome Antigen-Particle) liposome technology. This platform allows for the rapid and stable display of recombinant antigens, such as influenza hemagglutinin, on the surface of liposomes by mimicking the particulate structure of a virus to enhance immune recognition and response. As a hexavalent vaccine, it is designed to target six different strains of influenza viruses, potentially offering broader protection than traditional quadrivalent vaccines.
