Overview

HANK (Highly Active Natural Killer) cells are a proprietary cell-based immunotherapy developed and administered by Guangzhou Fuda Cancer Hospital. The therapy involves the ex vivo expansion and activation of natural killer (NK) cells—derived from either the patient (autologous) or a donor (allogeneic)—to achieve high cell counts (approximately 10 billion) and high purity. These activated NK cells are reinfused intravenously to recognize and eliminate cancer cells as part of the innate immune response. HANK cell therapy is typically integrated into the hospital's Combined Immunotherapy for Cancer (CIC) protocol and has been specifically investigated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for treating small metastases in colorectal cancer.
